Add, edit and delete an employee from your payroll at any time.
From the upper right select Business tools and then Payroll. Next select Manage employees and follow the appropriate steps below.
To add an employee within U.S. Bank Payroll in online banking
- Select Add employee. If you have existing employees, you may need to scroll down.
- Enter their personal information and choose Save & continue.
- Name, email address (optional), date of birth and social security number.
- Enter their home address, then select Save & continue.
- Choose their work address from the drop-down, then select Save & continue.
- Select Add another business address, if needed.

- Provide their job title, start date and compensation information.
- To enter compensation select Add info.
- Select their employee classification from the drop down.
- Salary, salary with overtime eligibility or hourly.
- Enter the amount of pay.
- Choose the time-frequency.
- Per hour, per week, per month, per year or per paycheck.
- Select Save and then Save & continue.
- Choose the payment method and then Save & continue.
- For direct deposit select their account type and enter their account and routing number.
- Provide their federal tax information, then Save & continue.
- This information is found on the employee’s W-4.
- Complete the state tax section and choose Save & continue.
- Enter the details of any external post-tax deductions then choose Submit.
- Review the details you’ve entered and select Activate employee.
- Your employee has been added!
To edit an employee within U.S. Bank Payroll in online banking
- To edit an employee, select their name and choose Edit to the right what needs updated.
- Enter the new information and select Save.
To delete an employee within U.S. Bank Payroll in online banking
An employee can only be deleted if you didn't complete their onboarding. If you’ve terminated an employee, see also: How to dismiss an employee with pay in U.S. Bank Payroll.
- To delete an employee, select their name and choose Delete employee below their details.
- Confirm you’d like to delete their information.
