U.S. Bank received regulatory approval to acquire MUFG Union Bank’s core regional banking franchise. We’re excited about the support, investment and opportunity this acquisition will bring to the people and communities in the western United States.
After the transition is complete (anticipated in the first half of 2023), customers of both U.S. Bank and MUFG Union Bank will enjoy expanded access to branches and ATMs in California, Washington and Oregon. Transitioning MUFG Union Bank customers will benefit from a broader selection of banking products and services, as well as industry-leading digital tools that let them bank when, where and how they prefer.

Following the closing of the transaction, we’ll begin transitioning Union Bank personal and business accounts to U.S. Bank.
U.S. Bank will stay in the markets Union Bank currently serves in California, Washington and Oregon. Although banking is increasingly being done online, we strongly believe the future of banking will combine technology with personal relationships – both do-it-yourself and do-it-together.
U.S. Bank is committed to keeping Union Bank’s existing front-line workforce on the West Coast in place through this transition.
After we convert your account to U.S. Bank (anticipated in the first half of 2023), you’ll be able to enroll in U.S. Bank mobile and online banking. We’re excited to make our industry-leading technologies, superior functionality and broader servicing options available to you.
