When using your card at places where tipping is common (like restaurants or hair salons), a larger amount than your purchase may be held to cover the tip (typically 20%).

• If you don’t have enough money for this extra amount, the transaction will be denied.
• If it's approved, the funds held will not be available for other spending until the actual transaction amount clears. This hold will last until the final charge is made or for 10 days, whichever is sooner.
