eCard is an optional feature of Zelle that enables you to add a personalized message to friends and family when you send them a Zelle payment. Although an eCard can be sent with a payment, it is delivered separately and does not affect the payment itself.

No, you can only send an eCard as a follow-up to a Zelle payment transaction. You’ll only be presented an opportunity to send an eCard after you’ve confirmed your Zelle payment request.
Both the payment and the eCard will expire after 14 days – the payment if the recipient hasn’t enrolled to receive it, and the eCard if the recipient hasn’t viewed it. If your recipient is already enrolled on the send date, they’ll receive the payment automatically even if they never view the eCard.
No. eCards are not available for scheduled or recurring payments at this time.
Someone who has sent you a Zelle payment wanted to add a personalized message to the payment. If you choose not to open the eCard, the payment will still be sent to your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile number.
Please ask the sender to contact their bank and find out the status of the payment or confirm the email address or U.S. mobile number used to send the money.
If you received an eCard notification, then you should have also received a payment notification and instructions how to enroll with Zelle. You’ll need to enroll with Zelle using the email address or U.S. mobile number where you received the payment notification to collect the payment.
No, but you can choose not to open any eCard without affecting the payment. If you wish to stop receiving eCards, you can contact the sender directly and ask them not to include eCards in the future.
Yes. Your recipient will receive the eCard notification whether they’ve used Zelle before or not. If they’re not already enrolled with Zelle, they’ll receive a payment notification with instructions to enroll and receive their money.
