FDIC-Insured - Backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government

The page was working in view as published until I removed the final Global Product Recommender tool component.

As a test, I re-added Global Product Recommender tool component as dummy component, which is not tied to any of the questions.

Now the page is working in view as published.

How a HELOC with a fixed-rate works

  • You can lock all of your HELOC with a fixed rate, or just portions of it.
  • Each fixed-rate lock option must be a minimum of $2,000.
  • You can have up to three locks on your HELOC.
  • As you pay down your locked balances, your available line of credit amount increases, and you can continue to use it during your draw period.

Consider a fixed-rate option if:

  • Interest rates are rising.
  • You know how much money you’ll need for a project or purchase.
  • You want the flexibility to unlock your fixed rate if rates start to drop.

A home equity loan might be a better option if:

  • You want the lowest available rate.
  • You want a term of more than 20 years.
  • You want a single, fixed monthly payment.

Example of a $100,000 HELOC

The circle graph shows a $100,000 home equity line of credit divided into a $35,000 5-year rate lock for debt consolidation, a $15,000 5-year rate lock for replacing appliances, a $25,000 20-year variable rate for a kitchen remodel, with $25,000 in remaining funds.
