How do I submit a credit limit increase for a secured credit card?

You can request a credit limit increase for your secured credit card. To qualify, your account must meet these requirements:

  • Be open for at least six months.*
  • Within your credit limit.
  • Be in good standing.

Your secured credit card uses a deposit to set the credit limit. You must submit your request in writing. Follow these steps:

  1. Complete and sign the Authorization for secured card credit limit increase form.
  2. Include a cashier's check or money order for the amount you'd like to increase. Make it out to U.S. Bank National Association.
    • Example: If your current credit limit is $300 and you want to increase it to $500, include a cashier’s check or money order for $200.
    • The final credit limit must be in increments of $100.
  1. Mail the form and your cashier’s check or money order to the address below.

  • If approved, you can use your new credit limit right away. Please allow for mail and processing time.
  • Your secured credit card limit equals your total deposit, up to a maximum of $5000. 
  • A request to increase the credit limit may result in an inquiry to your consumer credit report.
