How do I turn on or off additional authenticators when I log in?

To help us keep your information secure, the additional authentication process can't be completely stopped. However, you can follow these steps to change how often we ask for it. 

Online banking

  1. Select Customer service at the top of the page, then choose My profile
  2. Choose Edit Login & security and scroll down to the "Security" section.
  3. Select the toggle switch to turn two-step verification on or off.
    • On: We'll offer to send a one-time passcode to your mobile number each time you log in at usbank.com.
    • Off: We won't ask for a one-time passcode when you log in.

U.S. Bank Mobile App 

  1. Open the main menu in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. Select Security Center.
  3. Scroll down and select Go to login preferences. 
  4. Select the toggle switch to turn two-step verification on or off.
    • On: We'll offer to send a one-time passcode to your mobile number each time you log in at usbank.com.
    • Off: We won't ask for a one-time passcode when you log in. 

On the login preferences screen within the mobile app, you can also:

  • Create a visual pattern for additional verification.
  • Enable or disable your biometrics.
