How do I pay my escrow shortage?

We offer several ways to pay your escrow shortage. You can log into digital banking, pay by phone, by mail or at any U.S. Bank branch.

To pay your escrow shortage using online banking and the U.S. Bank Mobile App

  1. Select your mortgage account from the dashboard and choose View, pay & manage.
    Note: If the only account you have is a mortgage, the button will say View and manage.
  2. Online banking: Choose Payment at the top of the page.
    U.S. Bank Mobile App: Open the main menu (three vertical dots), then choose Payment.
  3. Choose Other payment (found below the amount due).
    Note: If you’re enrolled in autopay, first choose Make an additional payment, then Other payment.
  4. Enter the amount of your escrow shortage in the Additional Escrow field.
  5. Use the drop-down menu to choose which account you’d like to pay from.
  6. Optional: Change the payment date.
  7. Select Submit payment.

To pay your escrow shortage by phone

Our automated phone system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call us anytime at 800-365-7772 and say something like “make escrow shortage payment”. 

If you’d rather speak with a banker, we're available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT.

To pay your escrow shortage by mail

When mailing your payment, please make checks or money orders payable to U.S. Bank National Association. Include a note explaining the funds should go to the escrow shortage. Then, send it to:

To pay your escrow shortage at a branch

Visit your local U.S. Bank branch or use our branch locator to find one close by. We also offer appointments if that works better for you. Once you’re there, let the banker know you’d like to pay your escrow shortage.
