How to add or manage a contractor using U.S. Bank Payroll.

Add, edit and remove a contractor at any time. Begin by selecting Business tools and then Payroll. Next, select Manage contractors, then verify your identity and follow the appropriate steps below

To add a contractor to payroll in online banking.

  1. Choose Add contractor. Next, complete the Basic details section1 and choose Save & continue.
    1. To allow the contractor to enter their own details, check the box at the bottom of the page.
    2. Complete the required steps, then choose Send invitation to add the contractor.
  2. Enter the contractor's address, then select Save & continue.
  3. Select the payment method, then choose Save & continue.
    1. For direct deposit, enter the account and routing number and account type.
  4. Choose Yes or No to file a new hire report, then select Save & continue.
    1. Select the state they'll work in, if you selected Yes
  5. Select Submit and complete onboarding to finish.

To edit a contractor within U.S. Bank Payroll in online banking

  1. Locate the contractor and select the three dots to the right of their name and choose Edit contractor.
  2. Choose Edit to the right what needs updated.
  3. Enter the new information and select Save.

To delete or dismiss a contractor within U.S. Bank Payroll in online banking

  1. Locate the contractor and select the three dots to the right of their name.
  2. Select Delete contractor or Dismiss contractor
    1. Enter the date the contractor will be dismissed
  3. Choose Delete contractor or Dismiss contractor to confirm their removal. 

Note, you can cancel the dismissal anytime before it takes effect, and rehire them later if needed.

  • Personal or business information (e.g., name, SSN, EIN).
  • Work information (e.g., start date, compensation).
  • Tax details (e.g., filing status).
  • Banking information (e.g., account number).
